VA Begins Processing PACT Act Benefits

Terminally ill veterans receive priority during the first phase of claims.

The Department of Veterans Affairs began processing PACT Act benefits for terminally ill veterans this week. They do not currently have the capacity to process all PACT Act claims, which they will begin to process in 2023. However, the department is working to expedite the process for veterans most at risk so they may receive their benefits and health care as soon as possible.

“These Veterans have stepped up to serve our country in the times when we needed them most — and now it’s our job to step up for them,” said Secretary Denis McDonough. “It’s the right thing to do to get these heroes the world-class health care and benefits they’ve earned as soon as possible, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary McDonough to seek God’s guidance as he oversees the processing of benefit claims for veterans.
  • For VA officials as they begin to process claims for compensation for terminal medical conditions.
  • For U.S. veterans who have become critically ill or disabled as a result of their military service.
